About 400 people from the PPM – Confirel Group gathered on April 12 on the roof terrace of the Confirel factory on the occasion of the Khmer New Year, after two years without it being possible to celebrate it because of Covid-19.

After the religious rituals, including the blessing of the staff by Buddhist monks, Dr. Hay Ly Eang, Chairman of the Group, highlighted the difficulties that our companies, like the others, had to face during these two years of the pandemic. “In the end, by handling the issues on a case-by-case basis taking into account the circumstances at the moment, we overcame the hurdles and did not have to report any major issues,” he noted.

However, added Dr. Hay, this New Year which is beginning may hold unpleasant surprises. “We have to stay alert. The war between Russia and Ukraine can have major negative effects on many sectors, such as logistics and on the raw materials market. The rise in the price of certain raw materials has already revived inflation in many large countries. This could have a devastating effect on our economy and lead to problems that are unpredictable today. »

Hoping that the companies of the Group overcome the possible difficulties to come as they did during the two years of pandemic, Dr. Hay wished that this Year of the Tiger brings happiness and prosperity to them as well as to the whole country. entire. “While we have entered an unstable world, we must continue to work hard but act with caution and think carefully about our long-term strategies”, he concluded before giving way to games, songs and dances to welcome as it must be done the New Year in a festive atmosphere.
